Building A Creative Community

Helping to build a thriving creative community takes more than just good intentions—it takes consistent effort. For me, writing and producing Creative Third Thursdays is a true labor of love and a core part of my volunteer commitment to the Chilliwack Creative Commission.

As the Chair of the event's committee, my core belief is that our local artists—including filmmakers, photographers, digital creators, writers, and musicians—deserve a professional platform to share their work and stories. This conviction led me to utilize my skill set to produce these episodes. Having access to a quality studio made the decision obvious: I committed to producing a YouTube-ready show every month. Bringing each episode to life in Studio C is incredibly rewarding, despite the many moving parts involved, from scripting and coordinating guests to the final recording in front of a live audience.

For the past three years, I've had the great fortune of sharing responsibility for this show with a like-minded, long-time friend and fellow volunteer: Tim McAlpine, the owner of Cowork Chilliwack. To get a taste of what we're creating, check out this under-a-minute promo that Tim, as the owner of Studio C, and I captured during our last recording session.
